- India is planning to install 500GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
- India has committed in many international climate that 50% of its energy consumption will be sourced by non-fossil fuels by 2030.
- As per the government’s plan, there will be upcoming clean energy center in Anantapur and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, Bhadla and Bikaner in Rajasthan and Khavda in Gujarat.
- A committee constituted by Central Electricity Authority is also working on setting out a transmission system.
- This transmission plan will also be employed for transporting 10GW of off-shore wind based energy located at Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

- It is an attached office under the Ministry of Power.
