PANKHUDI PORTAL
Why in News?
- The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched PANKHUDI, an integrated digital portal, on 8 January 2026.
- The portal aims to strengthen partnerships, CSR participation, and transparency in programmes related to women and child development.

WHAT IS PANKHUDI?
- PANKHUDI is a single-window digital portal for CSR and partnership facilitation.
- It brings together:
- Individuals
- Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)
- Corporate entities
- CSR contributors
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
- Government departments
- The portal focuses on collaborative and outcome-oriented development of women and children.
VISION BEHIND PANKHUDI
- Inspired by the vision of Narendra Modi.
- Emphasises:
- Use of technology as a bridge between government and citizens
- Transparency, trust, and participation
- Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation) in nation-building
- PANKHUDI reflects this by enabling joint action between government, society, and institutions.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Strengthen coordination and convergence among stakeholders.
- Improve ease of doing CSR with the government.
- Ensure transparent, traceable, and accountable
- Enable structured participation in women and child welfare programmes.
FOCUS AREAS COVERED
The portal supports initiatives in key thematic areas such as:
- Nutrition
- Health
- Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
- Child welfare, protection, and rehabilitation
- Women’s safety and empowerment
HOW THE PORTAL WORKS?
- Contributors register on the portal.
- They can:
- Identify priority initiatives
- Submit project proposals
- Track approvals and implementation status
- Clearly defined digital workflows ensure accountability.
- All contributions are accepted only through non-cash modes to ensure financial transparency.
SUPPORT TO FLAGSHIP GOVT. MISSIONS
PANKHUDI strengthens implementation of the Ministry’s major missions:
- Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.
- Mission Vatsalya
- Mission Shakti
The portal provides a digital and transparent mechanism to support these missions through partnerships and CSR funding.
TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY FEATURES
- Common digital interface for all stakeholders.
- End-to-end tracking of proposals and funds.
- Integration with Central and State Government agencies.
- Mandatory non-cash contributions to prevent misuse of funds.
GROUND LEVEL IMPACT
- The portal will strengthen services provided through:
- Over 14 lakh Anganwadi Centres
- Around 5,000 Child Care Institutions
- Nearly 800 One Stop Centres (OSCs)
- More than 500 Sakhi Niwas
- Over 400 Shakti Sadan
- This will improve infrastructure, service delivery, and ease of living for crores of beneficiaries.
