Ishita Kishore, a graduate of Delhi University and the child of an Air Force officer, got first rank in the 2022 UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE). The 26-year young lady passed the renowned test on her third try. She failed her preliminary exam on her first two tries.
There are currently 933 qualifying candidates for the 2022 civil services examination, including 613 men and 320 women. There are 14 women among the top 25 applicants. The UPSC administers the civil services examination every year in three stages—preliminary, main, and interview—to choose candidates for the IAS, IPS, and IFS.

She is the younger of two siblings. Ishita Kishore participated in the Subroto Cup in 2012 and had previously competed at the national level of football. At the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) of Delhi University, she earned a degree in Economics with honours. She is from Uttar Pradesh and she cleared her UPSC examination by opting PSIR as her Optional.

Ishita Kishore claimed that in order to prepare for the test, she used to study for at least eight to nine hours per day. She told the news agency PTI that achieving the top spot in the civil services exam was like a “dream come true” for her and that, as an IAS officer, she would seek to advance women’s empowerment.

To pass the civil services exam, preparation must be rigorous and serious. The journey took a very long. I made an effort to complete 40 to 45 hours of preparation each week. Consistency and discipline are of the most essential aspects as well as weapons for a candidate to succeed in this examination.
